Installing the Storage Enclosure

Things to Know – General Installation

IMPORTANT If you are installing the storage enclosure in a cabinet with other

enclosures, make sure that the combined power and weight

requirements of the storage enclosure and the other enclosures do not

exceed the capacity of your cabinet.

• Special site preparation is not required for this storage enclosure beyond what is

normally found in a computer environment.

• The power supplies meet standard voltage requirements for both domestic and

worldwide operation.

• If you are installing multiple storage enclosures within a cabinet, keep as much

weight as possible in the bottom half of the cabinet.

IMPORTANT After you install the storage enclosures, you might replace drives or

install additional drives. If you replace or add more than one drive

without powering down the storage enclosure, install the drives one at

a time. Wait 10 seconds after you insert each drive before inserting the

next one.
